Recently I encountered this problem on my Personal Computer. I can't open it because it said "windows\system32\config missing or corrupt", and I found out the cause of this is the wrong shutting down of computer or maybe deleting some files that are needed..
SOLUTION: You can repair this problem by inserting your cd microsoft windows xp and then select 'R' for repair.
